vvk,
no-brainer is a very good adjective here, partially because it features different meanings. Just like another adjective: awesome.

Btw, with no doubts that apple products are good in their own environment and at some certain scenarios, I can't help pointing out that:
- I'm not aware of a reasonably priced USB iOscilloscope
- Trionic suits - how do their perform on apple platform?
- how stable are the drivers for USB-RS232 adapters for iOS?
- I'm a Pentaxian shooting in a raw format (long story) and having tried different raw converters I am now stuck with DxO Optics, I just don't like the output from its competitors (though e.g. Nikon photos look better being processed in Lightroom). And only Windows version of this software is capable of OpenCL (GPU) acceleration
- should I need to make my own application (like... CAN-SID emulator - very good idea to emulate it before putting it into metal and microcontroller), then I've got plenty of choices of very well documented compilers and IDE's. Probably, this isn't that bad in iOS either, but I haven't been there yet. But as for h/w support (e.g. when it comes to all those can-usb gizmos), I believe that apple products won't look that great any more.
- any ARM/MCS51/Atmel development tools for iOS? Stable releases? How many development interfaces are supported? And how much do they want for that?

You may get back with your own scenarios where iProducts look the best, but you can't beat my subject line: everything looks good when properly used. And that's the starting point for Stickman: what does he need it for? And does he need it? or more wants... just wants something... new... BECAUSE OMG!!!11 IT'S 5 YEARS OLD NOW! Back to those days when men were iron and ships were wood and when they were making products - while now they no longer make products, they make money - Singer sewing-machines lived for decades and nobody threw model 66 away just because they had released new model 99 and two neighbors ordered it two days ago.

Zig

N.B.
Dear Stickman,
please pardon my expressivity, but sometimes it just doesn't look good enough if not ended with three exclamation marks.
