Inexpensive PCs, whether desktop or laptop, are guaranteed trouble. Buy a business grade unit if you decide to go PC.

Macs appear to be more costly but may not be when compared to a business grade PC. Mac's higher price point undoubtedly contributes to their reputation of being trouble free.

I have one son who loathes Macs and refuses to own one, and another son who loves them, but EVERY Apple device he and his wife own has had to be returned at least once for factory repair.

I think the PC vs Mac debate is simply personal preferrence, and with units of equal quality either will do a great job for you
