I've driven one as a loaner. It actually sounds like a diesel at start up. And I can tell you I'll keep my 335d. Motor trend got 5.3 secs out of the 335d, so that is still faster than the 328i.
Once you go torque, you never go back. 425 vs. 260 in this case. I'm keeping the oil burner. Unless BMW brings the 204 hp 2 liter diesel here....
I have a 9000 Aero 5 speed and a 9-5 Aero wagon for direct injection fun. :-)
