well you are certainly comparing apples and oranges.
If you have really have always wanted to own a vintage British car I would say go that route. This from a guy who owned a '74 Alfa Romeo GTV for 21 years (1988-2009) and put ~150K miles on it while I had it. I really enjoyed the car but it is a very different driving experience from a "modern" car. In 2009 I was finally emotionally ready to sell the car and started looking for a modern two seat coupe, I'm not a convertible guy and wanted no backseat of any sort. At the end of my search I found a Porsche Cayman that had been on a dealer lot for a year and bought it. While the Cayman is pretty much a better car in all driving dimensions I still miss driving the Alfa and sometimes wish I had been able to keep it along with the Cayman.....
