they drill and spray... Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Thu, 18 Sep 2014 06:55:21 In Reply to: Re: Rust Recommendations, BobS, Wed, 17 Sep 2014 19:52:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
To access the interior cavities that are unreachable otherwise, the places here drill a small number of strategically placed holes and then plug them with rubberized plastic plugs. These are typically located in the doors and sills. They then use an appropriate wand to direct the spray deep inside the cavities. I'm not a 9000 owner, but the c900 had ports of this sort already done to access the insides of the rear fenders. Somewhere on the c900 bb I've posted photos of this before. I will look and try to link here. But fwiw, here is a photo of our c900 that saw 20 winters of salt and mess with regular Rust Check applied in this area. Under the grime, the original paint is still in great shape. Most c900s this age have either had this area welded several times, or there is almost no metal left! The circular hole for the axle rots out completely along the bottom like an upside down U.
