Here is a photo of the plugs. The middle rubber thing on the door came from the factory. The top and bottom ones were drilled and plugged by the Rust Check place. Every year, they pull them, spray, and replug. Drilling only happens the first year. If you are trying to have a concourse car, well, don't drill it... but you probably weren't going to drive it in winter either!
If you look along the sills, there are a couple more of these plugs. I have not seen any rust form near or associated with the holes/plugs, and everything on that car that got sprayed is solid even though it is a 1993. I have put it on a low salt diet the last couple of years, as I have a winter beater (1989) that is a little more cosmetically rough... but still more solid than most cars!
