I skied last weekend, and I'll ski later this coming week out here in CA. It is, without a doubt, the worst snow pack I can remember (I'm only 35...). Some resorts are still open.

I'll get at least another day in with spring conditions. Resorts have been closing in March for the first time in a LONG time. I count on the best skiing out here to be in March anyway, but not this year.

Just 4 years ago, my go-to hill (Sugar Bowl) opened up for 4th of July because there was still so much snow. It was a bonus for pass holders. It's not uncommon for a couple of resorts to stay open in the Tahoe area through Memorial Day. That's not gonna happen this year. Most resorts around here close because business drops off or due to their lease agreements with the national forest service. This year they are closing because there's no snow left.
