erm,EGD, in a sense, 'climate' can be seen climatic conditions through time and looking at past times and the physical/atmospheric chemistry at that time, and thus making some measurement of risk. Thus the carbon dioxide gas issue. I am also wary of making estimates of shifts in temperature, because of the complexity of global weather, but the carbon dioxide is clearly a risk---that's the whole point of looking at CO2 levels--coz we know what it can do and something about what it did in the past.
But yes, weather and climate shifts are not even close to being the same thing, and what has happened from twenty yrs ago until today is almost meaningless.
