Solar activity certainly has some impact on climate.
However, there isn't much in the way of peer-reviewed papers in Nature, Science, Journal of Climate, Geophysical Research Letters, or other scientific journals that validate solar activity as being responsible for the larger trends of rising global temperatures, receding glaciers, less sea ice in the Arctic, ocean acidification, etc. You also don't see solar activity showing up as a key climate-shifting force in research done by NASA, NOAA, or any of the major universities. You'd think that NASA and NOAA would notice if this were happening. This doesn't mean it isn't affecting climate, but the scientific data does not seem to be present.
Where you *can* find claims supporting solar activity is on the various websites that deny the scientific evidence for climate change. But these hypotheses are not peer-reviewed by multiple climate scientists or geophysicists and their data often relies on questionable or carefully selected sources.
I'm open to seeing data that validates solar activity as the force behind climate change, but nothing I've seen fits with the broader physical changes that are taking place around the world. If you have such info, articles or papers I'd love to see them!
