Hit #1 was the new winter tire on my wife's 9-5 wagon. Used up a big chunk of the winter tire budget.
Hit #2 was elder daughter. I'd put the one season old winter tires from my 9K on her '00 9-3, because...
(Hit #3) I was planning to drive younger daughter's '99 9-3 all winter, which had winter tires with one season left on them, and limit use of my 9K. But the kid came home 2 months early from going walkabout in Oz and New Zealand and needed to take the 9-3 back to NYC. I was not amused.
So my 9K went through the winter on the 16" summer rims and Bridgestone Serenitys. It was actually OK, driven with lots of care, but any inclines were impossible without a good head of steam. And that included my 150 driveway. So I took my wife's car or waited until the plows had come through.
First winter in 35 years without snow tires on my daily driver. That aint gonna happen again!
