The air quotes were used to show my skepticism towards the concept of 'climate' as the environmental movement and politicians use it today.
I believe it's more accurate to say that there are thousands of 'climates' around the world and each one of those is impacted by a myriad of variables. I also firmly believe based on my experience with finite element models and computational fluid dynamics (albeit in aerospace) that it's nearly impossible to accurately model, let alone accurately predict, future events with current technology and with the limitations of the source data (boundary conditions, temperature data, water temp data, ocean currents and circulation, etc.) what the effect will be of carbon on the 'planet.' The best you can do is approximate and draw conclusions which may or may not be accurate and which may or may not be affected by various agendas.
Should we as individuals strive to pollute less? Absolutely. Do I support the laws enacted in this country since the late-60s and early-70s to resolve legacy air and water pollution? You bet. Do I think carbon is a critical problem. No I do not.
Finally, respectfully, beware of group think in the scientific community.
