Well I love having office email on my phone. I'm a lawyer and have my own office, but it has nothing to do with billing (all my work is contingent), what it allows is flexibility. I get email all the time I need to respond to, and with the phone I don't need to be at the office or keep checking in. Even on vacation it's preferable for me as I don't come back to a million emails, and I can make sure stuff is attended to timely and properly. But I am fortunate to love my work so it is not a chore for me. I was recently in Mallorca, and because I had email and the phone, was able to participate in a spur of the moment conference call with a government lawyer and federal judge. I found that fun, but that's me.
I see a self-driving car the same way. I have no idea if or when the technology will be ready for prime time, but if it worked, I and I think 99% of the driving public would prefer it to driving ourself. If I can get 4 hours of work done in the car, that frees up 4 hours I can use for stuff I find fun like riding my bicycle. I'd rather ride my bike than drive. I like driving, and if I'm going to drive I like a decent car, but I would never "go for a drive" for recreation.
