4 Runners are a bit "old school" which I suspect is part of their enduring appeal. I'd suggest you try a four door Wrangler in Sport or Sahara trim. The Rubicon has a lot of unnecessary off road gear (unless you drive the actual Rubicon trail on a regular basis). It rides pretty rough as a result, as does the two door. The soft top is pretty noisy and a pain to erect. It's much easier to pop the hard top panels off. Jeeps definitely aren't for everyone and there's no middle ground. You'll either like it a lot or you won't like it at all. As much as I like them, I don't normally recommend them to many people but you seemed to be looking for something "out of the box."
