This is a truly awful piece of journalism. There's no sourcing at all, leaving the reader to wonder how the writer knows what he professes to know. Did he interview anyone? Is he relying on previously published material? Does he have some special inside knowledge, perhaps from working at either GM or Saab? Perhaps this is an honest and true account of what happened, but it's an opinion piece, no more. As a reporter and editor of 20 years, I know rubbish when I see it.
