Thanks,Bernie. Thinking of having it towed to Columbus,OH where she also has friends. Kind of ticks me off that after the hassle and expense of having the head gasket done - and just in August having a minor oil leak handled by the last Saab Master Tech in these parts - something blows up on the road. The h.g. job was done by Impact Motors, the last Saab specialist left in Rochester, NY. He folded up his tents and retired in April. Since the wagon ran fine - except for the minor leak recently fixed, I’d be disappointed if the h.g. somehow failed again. The last leak repair included resealed intake pipe throttle body, replaced dipstick o-ring, added dye to detect further leaks. A month later when wagon went in for exhaust work, nothing on service papers mentions dye or oil leaking.
