Why not the Bar Harbour, Me - Yarmouth, NS ferry to Nova Scotia?

This trip would replicate some of the ferry trips Scandinanvians have become accustomed to in their Saabs on the other side of the Atlantic.

Not so far from Yarmouth, you have UNESCO World Heritage town
of Lunenburg. Disney himself could not recreate such a town as this
bascially German-Dutch origin one.

The 80 mile coastal route north from Lunenburg to Halifax, which hosts some of Atlantic Canada's BEST music in the summer, is a treat for the eyes
and a challenge for the driver and you will encounter the famous "Peggy's Cove". Further, if you look for it, you could get to painter's heaven -"Blue Rocks".

Way on further up the Nova Scotia seacoast, you could even get to completely rebuilt Louisburg Fortress, the main reason why France does not now own part of North America (except for the miniscule St Pierre & Miquelon in the middle of the Gulf of St Lawrence.)

The warmest salt water swimming north of Florida on gorgeous, safe (private, if you want) white-sand beaches is available on Prince Edward Island along with Maine-quality lobster and the best oysters in the world (Malpeque Bay).

You could then proceed (quickly) back through New Brunswick and on through ME on some challenging, hilly back-country roads in a short cut to New Hamshire.

Set aside at least 10 days if this is the way you will go.
