What may or may not have happened to other people is irrelevant, as are letters and statements not made in the courtroom. What you need is an expert witness to testify that:
1) there was oil in the transmission before Jiffy Lube got hold of it.
2) there was no oil in the transmission after
3) it wasn't leaking, and
4) no other under car service involving fluid removal occurred between the time that Jiffy unlubed it and the ultimate failure.
Another interesting line would be to question the ape who actually did the work and enquire where he got his training on Saab cars, what size wrench is required, what documentation exists in the lube bay and what procedurers are used to ensure that the correct fluid is removed. It would help if **you** question the guy in the pit, as the franchisee will certainly testify that his procedures make what you assert happened impossible.
I take it this was a 5-speed, as an a/t wouldn't budge without oil in it.
