The cars themselves appear to be fairly good but brand image is probably the main issue. A lot of people spending $50K+ on a car still want the "prestige" brand name. Hyundai/Kia weren't expecting these to be big sellers anyway but the K900 doesn't appear to be even meeting those low expectations. Equus sales have been averaging around 290/month but K900 sales are much lower. I think less than 1/3 of Kia dealers signed up to sell the car.
A separate luxury brand like Toyota did with Lexus, Nissan did with Infiniti and Honda did with Acura would help and may eventually happen.
