I have a 2013 Durango and experienced the keyless entry failure. The remote wouldn't unlock/lock the doors and no response when I slipped my hand under the door handles. The little lock buttons on the door handles didn't respond either. I did as dmz said. I took the key out of the FOB and unlocked the doors. No drama. I wasn't trapped inside when I got home and the system started working again. Took it to the dealer and it was fixed. Don't remember exactly what was done to remedy it. This Durango is one of the my favorite cars I've owned. Rides beautifully and handles very well. Incredibly comfortable. No squeaks or rattles and the Uconnect/Nav system works great and is easy to use. The V6 has great power so I'm suprised JerseySaab found it lacking in the smaller lighter Journey. I even managed 25 mpg (once)on a long road trip. I've owned an 1986 Dodge Omni GLH Turbo, 1990 Dayton Shelby VNT and even a 1995 Neon. Thankfully I never crashed any of them so I cant speak to the crash worthiness but they were all very reliable. I even raced the first two. They put my 2001 Audi TT to shame. That car had a series of issues. Mechanical and electronic. Pedal sinking to the floor under hard braking. Clutch pedal falling to the floor. Rear differential leaks. Abs failing. There was more. Hated that car. With the amount of technology and electronics in todays cars there are so many points of potential failure. By the time issues begin to pop up the makers have moved on to newer technologies and electronics. Is anything tried and true anymore?
