difference of opinion. to me, water injection will always be a bandaid as long as it is used to correct for shortcomings of the fuel and timing faults. like nitrous, it does not produce true hp as it is limited in its use; but it is much safer. true hp comes from tuning the fuel and timing to make the engine its best. in this same mindset, you never add nitrous until you have the fuel and timing curves set.
fact is, until you have actually tinkered with a programmable system, you don't know what the true potential of an engine is. operate the engine in a variety of conditions and tune the fueling to optimize those conditions, you realize how smooth the power can be generated.
fwiw, 21 psi with the system i'm running will not be an issue. i ran 18 psi with lean fueling on the stock system and still had a max timing retard of 11 dbtdc which is more advanced than the stock system at 12 psi. fueling control makes a bigger difference than you think. tell you what, you plop one of these systems in yours and keep the water on. then tell me how simple it is to tune when you have water filling in the fueling gaps and affecting the a/f readings from the o2 sensor.
water will not be an issue later if i decide to add it. the versatility of a tunable ecu allows for such upgrades, the whole purpose for my purchase in the first place.
