Fact of the matter is, that the upgrade you have isn't suited for prolonged use if you want to avoid toasting your turbo and burning exhaust valves. I know you say you only use the power for very short periods and that's just fine, but for some people it's not an option.
Maybe there is a difference between the States and Europe, but people here want to be able to do repeated WOT runs without worrying about the engine.
As for the racing team, I'm almost 100% sure it's not factory team in any way.
Now I'm not trying to put down SQR or Frank, and I'm sure they know very well what they're doing. All I'm saying is that companies like Maptun, Hirsch etc probably focus more on supreme long term reliabilty (like stock) than peak HP. People who just do very short bursts of acceleration will probably be fine with upgrades like the stage 4, but others who use the power fully and regularly will most likely be happier with an upgrade with wider safety margins, and testing on a static dyno with EGT measuring. Each to his own...
Personally I wouldn't like driving fast on the highway/autobahn, if the margins were so small that prolonged acceleration could destroy the turbo and/or exhaust valves.
PS: The people you're talking about with 20% drivetrain loss had Speedparts upgrades, not Maptun.
