Again, it's not a question of "proving" that any company is any safer than another. It's quite simple. Look at the philosophy behind the tuning. Some tuners choose to upgrade as little hardware as possible, in order to show the most "bang for the buck". In doing so they push the limits of what the stock hardware can do beyond what I find acceptable. The risk of complete meltdown is, if not evident, at least ever present.
Other tuners dig deep into the limitating factors of each specific vehicle to determine where the "bottle necks" are and how they should be overcome. Then they gradually tune the car further and further, developing "stages" along the way.
With my personal experience so far, I would choose Hirsch as number one (if money was no object), MapTun as number two (based on personal experience, knowledge and "value for money") and BSR as number three (one very knowledgeable Saab software technician, good testing equipment, low "customization" potential, i.e no personal mapping). I would not touch any of the others, except perhaps for specific parts (exhausts, interior fittings or perhaps chassis). By now I know too much to want to experiment...
Best regards,
Karl
