"AGAIN, How dou you know this????? Are you an Engineer? Are you taking a WAG in the hopes that someone buys something your friend sells instead? Did you actually start this post using the word "FACT"???"
First of all, I'm not associated with Maptun or any of the other tuners in any way. I don't even have a maptun upgrade.
Second, do you now suddenly refute that the EGT gets too high with the SQR stage 4 if you don't have other hardware upgrades (besides 3" DP and racecat)?
"Really?? Then what exactly is the point you are trying to make??"
That should be rather obvious. Maptun and Hirsch upgrades are more focused on keeping the margins closer to stock in that they upgrade the hardware more than the SQR upgrades do. This should not be misunderstood as a deficiency in getting enough power from programming alone. It's a choice from their side.
"Did you tell me that you are an engineer?"
No, I'm not, but Dr. Boost who works in the Saab engine department is, and you'd be wise to listen to him.
"Dumping unneeded fuel into a cylinder is an engine life enhancement."
LOL! unneeded fuel? What makes you think it's unneeded? Fact is that the stock injectors are right at the limit with 300 HP (Yes it is a fact). This means that a any small deviation from optimal conditions can result in lean running --> *BOOM*
It really is just common sense.
It's just 2 different tuning philosophies. Some tuners go for max power at all costs, because that's what many customers want. Other tuners go for maximum safety under all conditions (hot weather, high altitude, poor gas quality etc etc).
Let's stop the childish bickering. It's clear that you're happy with SQR and I have no problem with that. However it ought to be possible to have a sensible discussion without people getting incredibly defensive about their favorite tuner (again I'm not affiliated with any tuners and do not have a maptun upgrade, neither am I planning to).
