Don't overthink it too much. The V4 is a quite basic and rough engine. :-)
You can polish and weight match the pushrods. If you do it, you need to know how to do it. Not only the general weight of the part, but the "weight-distribution" are essential. There are guidelines which are the same for all engines. Maybe you can find a good(!) book about engine-tuning.
Same for pistons, same weight for all 4. Crankshaft is usually good enough from factory. Just clean, check, measure, if needed regrind and nitrate the surface after regrind.
For the balance shaft, leave it like it is. There is nothing to do here.
Ligther valve lifters and harder springs together with the new valves and you are fine.
