If you don't have leaks now, I wouldn't expect leaks to start. You probably don't NEED the Auto-Rx treatment, but if you're at all concerned about sludge then it's an excellent way to eliminate those fears. If you don't mind short oil changes, then simply using a good "long life" synthetic & changing it every 5,000 miles for a while should clean things up pretty well & prevent further contamination.
As for the oil nerd thang, well, yeah.... it's a sickness.... but it was on sale, & I know I'll use it, &, uh, it's really, really good oil (well, most of it ... but I'll use the not-so-good semi-syn stuff in the lawn mower & for my next Auto-Rx cleaning & maybe if my neighbor's truck needs some oil when I borrow it to haul trash.... honest!), & .... um .... oh yeah, I have three cars & a scooter that all use it, so even at 10k to 20k mile changes it'll all get used up pretty quick, right? Oh! Except the scooter only holds 1/2 qt of oil, so I might need to change that every 2k-3k miles. So there! (Maybe I can get an oil-related shirt like the bike-related shirt below?)
