Cars have gotten so overly complicated you have to wonder if it will still be possible to keep cars for 200K or 300K. It may get to a point where they'll be like TV's--when they get to a certain point you're better off replacing them than trying to repair them. When something as simple as changing the spark plugs is a four hour job at a dealer (Subaru H6) you have to wonder how long we'll be able to continue working on them ourselves. There was a time when the European manufacturers the understood the elegance of simplicity and built cars to be easily maintained and repaired on a long term basis. I guess that trolley has come off the tracks. I'm not sure why.
