in either case, a design that makes cars hard to work on the result of not taking into account how a car is serviced. This just seems shortsighted to me.
I know not everything can be done in a way that makes servicing easy or simple, but a little thought would go a long way. In the case of the Audi/VW, why a belt instead of a chain? Why put the t-stat in a place that requires a lot of labor to change a $15 part?
Every car has examples of this kind of thing. It just seems that engineering is out of touch with the service and repair side of the business. Posts in this Thread:
