Audi/VW sales have been great this past decade... Can you imagine the financial benefits a small company in Trollhatten might have derived from only a small fraction of the Audi buying public realizing this prior to purchase... Contrary to widely held myth (of those who don't own them), in most cases, saabs are pretty easy to work on and relatively affordable to own! ie (in most cases) 1) they don't have timing belts, 2) the chains rarely need replacement (if ever in many cases), + 3) it's easier to do if and when the time comes...

I like the Audis, and I know a few who swear by them + have techs that make ownership easy... but other techs know they can soak affluent Audi customers + do... One of my friends sold his Audi, not because there was anything wrong with the car or concerns re paying for a fairly done ($1200-1500) belt change, but because the closest tech was of that latter group + he didn't trust the guy wouldn't soak him on the belt change or other work...
