I forget if it was the most recent issue or not, but definitely from this year. The editor was basically commenting on the fact that some models of some new exotics (i.e. Ferrari, Porsche, etc.) that were traditionally manual-only, are now only offered with dual clutch autos. I believe his commentary included the fact that he was always a hard-core manual guy, but after driving these cars, he's seeing the light.
Personally, I have a 9000 that is an auto and a 9-3 convertible that is a 5-speed. There are pluses and minuses to both...the "point-and-squirt" feeling of the turbo/autobox combo in the 9000 is cool feeling, but it pretty much ends there. Oh and it's convenient in the snow and ice. The 9-3 sucks in commuter traffic, but I can suck it up and enjoy it the rest of the time. I probably would be content to never own another auto.
