The 1/8 inch red wire in the black corrugated tube protector goes from the starter to the alternator. There's a thick black wire that's a bit tough to make out at the bottom of the alternator (the connector has a yellow plastic collar. That is the ground for the alternator that connects to the large bolt holding the alternator on (necessary because of the rubber mounts for the alternator).
