what is WD?

I did read up on the frequency valve testing in the Bentley. I'll need to grab a dwell meter, but it doesn't seem too difficult of a procedure.

The WUR I did a rebuild kit job on it. There isn't much to it. The original metal diaphragm did have the gas crud like a coat of paint / but it seemed ok otherwise... but with that said, I am leaning towards the regulator being the issue of the day.

So here was the day today...

Last night after my short 20 minute cruise it died upon arriving home and never started again. So this morning before anything, I pulled the injector pairs and did a quick re-calibration of when they begin to open while lifting the air meter plate. I know it's rudimentary, but I assume at dead zero position the injectors wouldn't open at all (please correct me if this is a incorrect assumption). All this is tested with the fuel pump jumped. After that, I ran a quick time test of flow at wide open (meter plate lifted all the way). Ideally I would have captured each individual injector, I know / but I did them as pairs. In 15 seconds it dumped 76ml gas for injectors 3&4 and 74ml for injectors 1&2. Though not truly injector specific it does tell a story of about 150ml per injector per minute at WOT. So now I'm wondering (because I don't have a pressure gauge as of yet) if knowing this number would allow me to do some reverse math an come up with the probable pressure the injectors were receiving. There must be a chart out there of the characteristics for these stock injectors.

After that, I put it all back together and it started and idled beautifully on the first crank. However, after about 3 minutes (without ever touching the throttle) the rpms took a dive and it stalled out and like last night it hasn't started again today. When I try, it does the initial rev to about 1.5k they drops to about 900 does a split second hesitation but then immediately drops and dies. Even if I try to catch it with my foot with some pedal work it doesn't have any affect / just dies.

That three minutes of running nice then dropping out makes me think the WUR is at play for this issue.

I did have my meter on the O2 sensor during its short run and it tested at 0.8v so there's that too.

I don't know, I'm stumped. I have a new fuel pump arriving Friday because I don't trust the one that I had to free up with a hammer. But it might come down to shipping that WUR out for proper work and calibration. I could reopen it tonight and see if it's still operating the way I left it after the rebuild.. also I saw a video on how to adjust it but I'd need the pressure gauge for that and a running car in lieu of a bench test set up ...I think.

so much gas all over the place this past week I had my 12 year old daughter holding a fire extinguisher when I tested things. All I kept thinking about was this...
