Thanks for your input, Paul.

These headlights are sealed with automotive sealant and next to impossible to take out (I bought two new glass lenses already b/c one had a crack). Even with heating it up in an oven the adhesive would not yield and in the process of removal the glass broke apart. Would love to get my hands on a couple of remanufactured plastic housing for the lens, which does not appear possible (the plastic ones do not handle aging well, becoming brittle and are often mended with what seems to be RV roofing adhesive). The search goes on!
