I've watched an oil pan removal. The sub frame bolts were loosened. Then the frame was levered down with a prybar on the the driver's side. It was done on a rack from the underside. Don't see how that could be done on ramps. I have a 1999 9-3 with 125K. When I got it it had 69K and did a head gasket right away. It looked a lot cleaner on the top end than most engines I've seen so I just drove it without cleaning the oil screen. I run NAPA synthetic 10-30, changing about 6K.
