Hi Anders, thank you for all the posts and the diagrams. Looks like I have an extra 918 2205 now. lol. I do not have the equipment to live read my engine temp, unfortunately nor have I thought to do so. I will start looking around.
So its all anecdotal and more so from the summer months. I never hear my fan except for the Hi mode and it shuts off as soon as I turn the ignition off. Even in middle of summer when it should run for the extra seconds. And in the past, as the days get warmer my AC gets poorer, so much so that last summer I quit using the AC. This was after two consecutive summers of vacuuming and charging the AC system. Its why I thought that the sensor was faulty. No cooling at low end making the R134a boil and unable to recover, my thinking. I forget that Saabs are a little more sophisticated than regular cars. You diagram proves it. On it four possible input for the DICE to trigger the fan. I was thinking it was one, lol.
I believe it is the case that the temp rises to 113C before any cooling fan turns on. That said I will throw the newer sensor on the car. That leaves me with the outside temp sensor resting inside the bumper, works accurately as it shows on the SID. Actual car speed should be good as my tire sizes are OEM. So that leaves me the AC pressure switch. How would I test that ? Can it be removed without having to vacuum the AC system ? Am I on the right track ? Thank you again.
