Go, Soledad! I saw that guy last night on t.v. and he was proud of their effort. Now he's making excuses ("people have to remember its an area of 90,000 square miles" just doesn't cut it). Tsunami we just happened to have a fleet in the area (why don't they patrol our waters?). But hurricane they knew about for 2-3 days and the last day it was getting stronger not weaker right up until it hit. Whoever's in charge (I still can't figure out who) needs to get out of the way and let the grown-ups take over. I suspect that former tough guy cop Bernard Kerik (sp?) would have done things a lot differently.
I'm really getting steamed about the whole gov't response -- its been poor at best (not the individual effort - heroic; I mean from a logistical/organizational/tactical)
Sorry for the rant.
