We had an electrician from a big local company come in and put in two plugs for them because there wasn't one in a good location. All he did was fish lines from the existing plugs into the attic and bring it down to the new locations. We of course have a refrigerator, dishwasher, washer dryer, range and cooktop, etc. A million TV's. Nothing big like a hot tub which would require a circuit but not new wiring. Fuses never blow. Can't remeber the last time. Happens once in a while. Biggest problem is there aren't very many plugs in the house. We have a circuit breaker box for the kitchen, fuses for the rest of the house and few other boxes for things that have been added. The only problem I ever had was when the serivce to the house went bad. Replaced by power company. One feed went way down (the refrigerator shut down) and the other went way up (I lost a VCR). Has not happened since the power company came out and gave me new service to the house. THe guy who put in the service said that my house was fine. I have one of the few original houses in my neighborhood (which is really in demand now) that has two origianl full bath up and a half down. This thing is really built but there is a lot of upkeep. Modern houses can't compare with the quality but my house doesn't compare when it comes to features like central air etc
