back. My bad. I should have made that point. With modern 3-wire Romex I always make the ground connection in the box, but in opening up circuits in my last house that were newer and wired with Romex, or in my present house which is all Romex, I am amazed to find the neutral wire is just cut short or twisted off to the side. Did the electricians not understand the reason the wire was there? Was it all homeowners' work? BTSOM!
