"I’m trying to understand why many warranty items are arbitrarily approved/denied by dealers/GM. Is it that complicated?......All insight is greatly appreciated."

But reading down through your own threads on this post creates an entirely opposite theme here :

"Warranty (is) like going to a casino"......

"The warranties, both new and CPO are bumper to bumper with very few exclusions" ......

"CPO is still a mess of exclusions.".....

"Anything less is fraud.".......

"It is one thing to built junk and another thing not to support it and yet another thing to lie about the junk being junk."

"The current system is fraud and seems to be stacked against consumers. In most cases, it must be fraud because if a denied item is later covered it was inherently fraud when initially denied. I realize that the dealers are denying coverage under economic pressure from Saab, but it is still totally unacceptable as they should fight for their customers' rights who buy cars from them."

What is evident is that several dealerships in your area and you have had head-on collisions on what you perceive to be warranty issues. You've disagreed with them, and that is your right.

Personally, I simply and totally disagree with your post of "building junk, not supporting junk, and then lying about it." Personally SAAB (in the early days) and GM/SAAB today have treated me very kindly, and professionally. I believe many more percentage of readers agree with me --that remain silent here.

Yes, I sometimes have questioned my dealership why/how a warranty decision was determined.....to the bigger picture of "lets sit down together and work it out this difference"....which I thank God I have been able to do successfully in my lifetime.
