One mistake you don't want to do is staple your cables to the studs. Also, having access from the top or bottom of the wall to fish wires through will greatly help.
In the future if you find you need to route a new wire, you can disconnect an existing wire and use that as your fishing lead. What you can do is connect a fishing line to the end and then pull the existing cable back to where your new cable comes in. Then pulling the fishing lead pull both cables back through.
If you tape the ends down to a "point" you can fish it easier. If you have a long distance through holes in the joists you might be out of luck. But make sure you get one of those fancy boxes where you can add on.
Or what you can do is find out is where the industry is going and prewire. CoAx, Cat 9 are all standard. Multiple Cat 9 cables at that to run many home theatre components.
