we own 2 classic 900s: 1993, 1989. they are tough cars... hope to get many more years out of them, though we might be in the market for a 9-5 wagon moderately soon.
From my perspective, I want long model runs - means greater compatible parts longevity. I wish GM had done less to the 9-5 over the years (2006 face lift is imho ugly, and original look was the most Scandinavian).
So yeah, I am saab's worst customer. That said, if this was actually a problem (that everyone buys them used), then resale values would be high! Resale values are low, which means there's more people buying them new (leasing actually) + selling them cheap to a smaller pool of buyers. With the leasing gone, that probably hurt sales... SAAB definitely appeals to a fussy neat sort of high end customer that looks at Volvo, Audi, BMW, Merc + wants something a little different.
