While it was nice of you to apologize (although in some sense your earlier comments were reasonable)... I don't get it? How is it better to sell SAABs + not drive one (even a CPO) than to own various old ones + keep them running on the cheap? In your position, you have the inside track. Why not pick up a car off lease for a song? Are you not confident in the product you sell? Like others have said, when people see old SAABs still on the road after 15-20 years, it gives the brand credibility, that the cars are more solidly built than most. That's got to help your sales, not hurt them... and I have to say, when my parents recently upgraded to a cpo 9-5, the fact that the salesman drove a c900 vert meant he spoke our language.

Perhaps DIY types do make some comments that hurt (I've made my fair share)... especially wrt dealer service + GM annoyances. But reality is, none of the dealers I took our c900 to could fix the car cost effectively (like our indy + a little diy can). I paid several *huge* dealer service bills + learned my lesson.

Anyway, my point really was (like I tell my Subaru driving friends), maybe you should pick up a cpo SAAB now... they're an outstanding car + a bargain as well!

James...
