Jim, boiling the fluid may allow the pedal to go to the floor, but it's not a given. It depends on how much moisture (water) is in the fluid. The brake pedal can start out feeling soft, then spongy, and can be "pumped up" a bit. But if the fluid has really cooked it's possible to lose a much/most of your braking power. And combined with heat fade on the pads/rotors is no fun. Fortunately, you can usually anticipate it.
At a track day last summer, I managed to boil my 5-day old standard DOT 4 fluid by the last few laps of my final session--by which time I was running a lot harder than I was earlier in the day. In the same session, my buddy in his M3 had boiled his fresh DOT 4 fluid which had a higher boiling than mine. We both had kinda mushy brakes, but nothing terrible. Pedal travel was greater and more pressure needed to stop. Pumping helped.
Next time I go to the higher temp fluid to see if it helps in my car, which is not as fast as my pal's Bimmer.
That's just my experience, YMMV.
