Congrats, but I think it's obvious that's not a typical vehicle experience or 20 year old cars wouldn't be as rare on the roads as they are. My '87 9k has had no major drive train repairs, but I also had a low mileage '86 that was a disaster, so it's always a gamble.
I did some Googling and there are lots of Prius taxis out there at 200k and 300k on their original batteries too. I'm not convinced that even a once in a lifetime battery replacement is any less economical when you consider the reduced repair costs of the rest of the vehicle, especially with the availability of used lower mileage batteries. For what is still a recently new technology, the hybrid vehicles appear to be extremely long lasting. I'm sure plenty of folks wouldn't have given a fancy fuel injected, turbocharged Saab much hope of making into old age with home repair either when it was new, but ways are always found to work with the technology - there are a lot of Priuses out there and there's a lot of money to be made in developing ways to keep them on the road.
