I have much older cars than my Saabs that have also stood the test of time without requiring serious repairs.
For example, I have a station wagon that is over 40 years old (1971 AMC Ambassador) that is used for light hauling and occasional road trips. This car has a 360 cid V8 and a 3-speed Borg-Warner automatic transmission, and neither has ever been apart after more than 4 decades on the road. Things like ball joints and bushings have been replaced, of course, but you're going to have that on a hybrid or full electric as well.
Likewise, an AMC Hornet with 258 six, only slightly newer, has never had major drivetrain service (engine and tranny have never needed internal repairs). (Have a 4-wheel-drive AMC Eagle too but that's almost new in comparison, being a 1985 model. It's never had major drivetrain components apart either.)
So a conventional drivetrain can last for a very long time if it is of basically sound design and is properly maintained. It's hard to imagine a battery pack that will still be working after 40 years. (Though it's kind of academic as it is very unlikely that I'll last another 40 years! :-)
