The point is not it gets turned back into anything. The amount of solar energy that you are consuming is not going back to the sun at all. Solar energy is also finite (a few billion years). The point is that the "finiteness" of hydrocarbon on this planet is so vast that, you'd have a lot other problems to worry about before worrying about using up hydrocarbon . . . just like you have a lot of things to worry about before worrying about the sun using up its finite hydrogen fuel.
