In our rural area it is difficult to find an HONEST indie;
We had one who was a dedicated subie guy for a bunch of years, until worldly things scared him into selling off & moving to florida.
We haven't located another good one since.

Here in the north country there is lots of road salt & nasty pre-treatment used, and even with undercoating applied that seems to make subies rot like crazy.

My Saab indie does auto work only VERY part time now since the Saab trade dwindled, also his shop is about a 2 hour drive from here.

We do use a general garage which is family owned & run, but they don't do Saabs & getting subie work done there means leaving the car for a week or more - which we cannot even do presently as my car is OOC until an electronic problem is eliminated.

Over the years I've owned & very much enjoyed a bunch of 9KTs while always despising Saab's attempts at being ahead of their time electronically for otherwise wonderful cars.

ACC & the ree-dik-oh-rous 'temp sensor fan' ?!? Buggy anti-theft systems ?? The abortion called TCS ?!?

Yes - before I learned the hard way I owned a '93 Aero with ETS & TCS...
A great car when it wasn't failing into LHM without warning, and I traded it away for a less complicated '88.

My firm conclusion about ALL things is that 'newer' DOES NOT equal 'better' along with my great disdain for useless, added complexities (ATPMS anyone ??).
