Good luck on the car search - I'm pretty fluent in that model Volvo (P2 and most Saabs) and can share a more that might help.
Overall, those are a nice driving, exceedingly comfortable (front seats), highly durable Volvo, and a solid year. They don't drive as sporty as the Saabs, the turning radius is horrible, but it's a solid and safe cruiser.
I drove one to 100k, sold it to a friend (I'm still the mechanic) and it's pushing 300k with only minor repairs/maint. Two things to keep in mind... the AWD system is known to eat the pinion shaft and many are driving around in only 2wd (often unknown to the owners), and make sure you can live with the back seat - it's more for kids than adults.
The 5cyl engines rival Saabs in their ability to last and with less silly repairs (looking at you Saab rigid hoses fittings, window rollers, TBs, and DICs) - although they do require a timing belt/wp around 100k and the PVC systems often need renewing around the same time, just build those into your expected costs. The acceleration is good, and with a Hilton tune you can turn these into a fast sleeper, I put a stage 1 on at 50k and it's still going strong. I'm still partial to a Saab, but wouldn't hesitate to put family in one of these as long as they were okay with the above compromises. Best of luck!
