My first wife and I got married in college with a "blissful" life ahead of us. We didn't grow together though. She needed the 1.8 kids and picket fence within months of her graduation. My comprimises (getting my degree) were unheard and she left. I was completely devistated for months while we were separated (translation; use Terry as a safety net until I find a better man).

Depressive, yes. But I became the person I needed to be. It was amazing how many comprimises I had made to be with this person. Funny enough, my first SAAB came to be as a distraction to the split. A $125.00 dark green v4 96. Every trip, no matter what length, was an adventure with large amounts of giggle factor. But this was a car that I knew that my wife would never let me have. And as the wind whistled through the rusted cabin I felt individually alive.

Refocus on your studies. Take the Art class next semester. (Okay, I ended up getting my MA in Sculpture) Point being, take a class to explore yourself. Plus, as most post college poster's on this board will tell you, college is a aquaintance/friend/lover rich enviroment.

Be honest and dislike her choice but support her needs. If she's truly a friend she'll have torments of her own. No need to add instability based in some ego repair of your own. If she has no torments, you'll be much beter off without her. We posess no one but ourselves. Be honest to yourself.

And as my exwife painted her perfect life with a used car salesman, I travelled the nation on my Moto Guzzi visiting true friends I met in college.
