Those look like a nice car and having had BMWs in the past I want to like them. But every road test I read on BMWs are laced with complaints about things that are really basic and shouldn't be issues on a premium priced car. Is a bad ride really an acceptable trade off so that you don't have to have a spare tire? Their electric steering has been universally panned and while I understand it's cheaper and lighter, how is it okay on a car like that? The last time I was in a late model 3 series I was astounded by how cheap and plasticy the interior was--these are expensive cars when you get all the options. And I've heard enough second hand horror stories about maintenance issues on new ones that it sure spooks me. These days there's too many alternatives to signing up for that kind of grief.
