holy crap. that was awful. thanks!
Where I live is full of active outdoor lifestyle types also (myself included). Subarus sell really well, and they are not cheap and rarely discounted. Lease rates are high. In 2005 I compared lease rates on a 9-5 wagon and an Outback. They were within 10% iirc.
For what you want it for, maybe No Snaab needs to sell you on a Wrangler. Our street used to have 6 9-5's on it and now I think we are the only one left! But one of them was replaced with a Wrangler and another euro car guy I know (BMW/Audi especially) picked up an old Wrangler also, so there are now 4 of those on our street... Like NoSnaab - he really finds it fun. Good in winter, and good at the cottage. Easy to work on + last pretty well. His was an old one he got cheap and wasn't expecting to enjoy or use so much.
I wonder how much lumber can fit in a Wrangler? They aren't too long. If they were good haulers, that might increase their appeal to me. I still haul building supplies in a c900... that thing is a workhorse!
